Jon Doe Warren Forte a.k.a. Jon.Doe has risen to the highest level of DJing and
selecting in Barbados through hard work and determination. No party scene is
complete without the presence of the man from Renegade International Sound.
It all began in 1984, when Jon.Doe bought his first piece of vinyl and by 1990
he owned turntables, just six years later. Warren Forte was able to rise up
through the ranks of the dancehall arena, making his mark alongside the likes of
celebrity Barbadian, DJ King Yellow. The art of selecting music is no easy
tasks.
Jon.Doe gives much credit to DJ King Yellow for his mentorship during the dawn
of his career.
Who is Jon.Doe? He is the Atlantic Canada DMC DJ Competition Champion 1994 and
Host of Baseline Reggae Show – CKDU FM broadcasting from Halifax Nova Scotia
1992-96.
Who has he worked with? Jon.Doe is no stranger to artists with local, regional
and international acclaim. Stone Love, Tony Matterhorn, Swatch, Mighty Crown,
Bass Odyssey. DJ Kid Capri of mix-tape fame and the now-defunct HBO´s Def Comedy
Jam and Mr. Cee of HOT 97 FM in NYC are among his peers. Jon.Doe´s skills have
brought him from behind the turntables into the international stage. He has
shared the spotlight with recording artists such as Elephant Man, Morgan
Heritage, Mad Cobra, Buju Banton, Hawkeye, Bounty Killer, Freddie McGregor and
Vybz Kartel. A friend to all, Jon.Doe never forgets the artists who continue to
support and contribute to his success. Alison Hinds, Edwin Yearwood, Rupee,
Machel Montano, Iwer George, Kevin Lyttle, just to name a few share a mutual
respect in the quest to transform the party goers experience.
What has he done? It was in August 1997 that Renegade DJs (Renegade Sound) was
formed by a close-knit group of four friends - Jon.Doe, Quincy, Rudy, & Triple
XXX - out of a vision of creativity and versatility, which was sorely lacking in
the dancehalls and radio waves of that time. Jon Doe further cemented his career
path by switching from a seemingly-lucrative career in banking and finance to
one with a leaning towards broadcasting and music.
Where is he going? Since the earlier days, times have changed and the members
and scope of the crew have altered to accommodate the times, the only consistent
element within the sound being Jon.Doe. Then, in April 2005 Renegade Sound was
revamped and restructured, and Renegade International Sound was conceived,
establishing branches in Canada (headed by Dru) and England (headed by G-Rocky).
In his own words, "A desk-job, sitting and pushing pens and pencils, and
crunching numbers all day... that's not me. I may have a business-related
degree, but I am a people person, socializing and touching people is in my
blood, in my core. Music is in my blood. What better ways to reach people, touch
people's lives, and love the work you do than to get into a career in
entertainment and broadcasting?"
Who is Jon.Doe? He is CEO, Renegade International Sound, an unstoppable force in
entertainment.
