Simona

Simona Simona is 21 years old. She is an intelligent, sincere, determined and kind young woman whose unique and unforgettable personality shows in every aspect of life. This biography was established at this time because that is not all there is to her.

Simona is a versatile young Reggae/ Neo-Soul artist with the inspiration of a thousand leaders, the strength of ten soccer moms, the passion of a soldier and the patience of a high school teacher. Her dream is to touch people's lives with music. Her dream is to make people laugh, cry, love and dance to her music.

To go back to the beginning of her journey one would begin in church where Simona began exploring her vocal talents at the age of 13. She was part of the choir in which she felt at home singing alto. However there were instances where she was brought out from the sea of voices and performed as a soloist. After touching the hearts of many with her gift, this proved as just the beginning...

Simona went on to join the gospel group Vessels of Worship where her vocal abilities were put to the challenge. Having gone through vocal training at this point she was approached by a fellow musician about taking her career to the next level.

After taking the next step Simona then went on to write and co-produce various tracks with fellow musician Ryan Yarde, where she worked with local gospel artist Danah along with producers Duane Scantlebury and David Thomas to produce her first R&B singles penned "Who Will it be" and "Still Need You Now". Here, Simona was approached by some of the top ranking recording studios in Barbados and was persuaded to take the next step.

Now as a solo artist and song-writer, Simona intends to follow through with her first love...music. Having collaborated with a handful of the island's best talent, she has the drive, inspiration and talent to take her to the top. With her smooth vocals, skilful writing abilities, passion for music and unforgettable persona, Simona is one to look out for, not only on the local music scene but on the international music platform as well.

The Music Effect...

I am an artist. The medium with which I choose to express myself is music. Music is not only about what you hear but more importantly about what you feel when the words strike your mind, heart and soul. Music is sharing life's experiences with a little melody. We have such strong responses to music because it explores issues of self-identification, sexuality, relationships and emotions. To some, music means freedom, comfort... even segregation. For me... to sing is to breathe.
