With
a grace and range well beyond her years, Ms. Wynter Gordon's music is a moving
combination of pleasure and pain, failure and triumph. In a word - life.
Wynter is as masterful a songwriter and composer as she is a vocalist. Her
magnetic charm and beauty may initially draw you in, but it will undoubtedly be
her passionate songs that speak to you, and, ultimately, keep you here.
Wynter Gordon began her musical journey in a very humble setting in the poverty
stricken neighborhood of Southside Jamaica Queens, NY, where she was the middle
child in a family of seven. After being bussed to multi-cultural middle schools,
Wynter was accepted in to the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for
the Performing Arts where she was a professionally trained singer, songwriter
and dancer. While attending LaGuardia, Wynter was a featured performer at venues
such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
After graduating from LaGuardia High School, Wynter joined the American Music
and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) Conservatory but soon dropped out to follow her
lifelong dream of obtaining a major label record deal. With an uncompromising
will and undeniable talent, Wynter began shopping her demo while working as a
waitress. Within a year, Wynter had written the title track to Mary J. Blige's
"Breakthrough" album and solidified herself as a talent on demand. After a
lengthy bidding war, Wynter decided to sign with Atlantic Records and is
preparing for the release of her debut album, "Wynter."
