With Crop Over 2009 around the corner, some studios have already started recording, and we understand that one studio was in the mastering stages of its Crop Over 2009 compilation.

Daddy Bubbles, producer at Studio B, says no major work has started yet, but intends to get the ball rolling very soon. He told us to look out for tracks from artists such as Edwin "De General" Yearwood, Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds, Answar, Big Thor of Spin Pooch Ink. fame, Lil Rick and a track from Luther from St. Vincent may very well be also included in his compilation. With his team of Darian Bailey (Keyboardist of Xtatik), Terry "Mexican" Arthur and Funkmaster Stan, he can guarantee that his Crop Over contribution, will be worth waiting for.

Over at Monstapiece Studios, Peter Coppin, says he is relaxing, basically, because he is way ahead of schedule time. The album, which will be Monstapiece's 12th Crop Over album, will feature some of the "big guns" in the Calypso arena. As usual, he will feature artists from across the Caribbean, artists such as Iwer George, Denise Belfon, Che'Nelle, Collie Budz, Edwin Yearwood, Lil Rick, Peter Ram, Unda Dawg, Mikey & Lorenzo amongst others.

It's good to see that producers and artists have started working on their material from as early as February and according to statistics, the earlier the music is released, Crop Over is at its best. Look out for Daddy Bubbles' album in June and Monstapiece's album in April. Stay tuned as we liase with other studios for information.
