Soca on De Hill

The much anticipated calypso/soca show that has been responsible for the "hills" coming alive with the sound of sweet soca music, will not be a part of this year's Crop Over Event Calendar.

Recent conversations with the production team responsible for the show, indicated that because of the change of venue for the Party Monarch competition, put on by the NCF, they have decided not to schedule the event at this time.
The producers of the show do not believe that the usual number of patrons who would repeatedly flock to Farley Hill National Park, will be inclined the go there two consecutive weekends.

Traditionally, Soca on the Hill is held the Sunday before Party Monarch Competition. The different venues add their own unique flavor and vibe to the staging of these shows, therefore patrons have a different kind of experience.
Both shows, if held at Farley Hill, may fall victim to low ticket sales and lack of sponsorship, as it appears that they will be competition for the same crowd presence and support.

Soca on the Hill, will be greatly missed from from this year's event calendar. Producers are hoping however to bring this spectacular show later in the year.
